Our first thought before visiting Ruth’s Chris Steak House was what’s with the name!? It’s a bit of a tongue twister but after reading up on the history we have to give kudos to the gal who added her name to what was originally known simply as “Chris Steak House.” The restaurant chain can be traced all the way back to the 1920s and today there are over 100 steakhouse locations all across the United States. Tonight, we decided to stop by the

Bellevue location.

At Ruth’s Chris Steak House, we had an easygoing and elegant happy hour experience. Though the crowd was older (50s), there was also a mix of 30 to 40 year olds who appeared to have just wandered in from Bellevue Square. After waiting through a long line to get in, Ruth’s Chris Steak House offered quality food and drinks which we both agreed were well worth the wait!

TERI’S THOUGHTS:
 Parking

3stars.png
Bellevue Square offers free parking which is a plus. However, parking can get crowded. I recommend parking at the top of the garage and taking the stairs or elevator down.

Atmosphere

5stars.png
The restaurant is pretty and elegant. Although it is a little dark which can make reading the menu a challenge.

Food

5stars.png
Delicious and gluten free choices. There was seared ahi, shrimp, salad, and more.

Drinks

The drink I ordered was delicious but there wasn’t a huge wine selection which was a bit disappointing.

Pricing

Drinks and food costed $7-$8 on average.

Service

It’s really dark but super cute. We sat at a two top table and could hear each other really well.
Food

The food is amazing. It’s a pretty basic menu but done well. The ahi was the best I’ve ever had! This time I had BBQ shrimp and a caesar salad–both gluten free and super yummy!

Drinks

I chose the French 75 because I generally love them. However, this one was just okay. I have had the HH lemon drop before and it was yummy.

Pricing

It’s a bit more on the expensive side but worth it for the portions and atmosphere!

Service

Our waitress was great and very patient when I asked about gluten free options (they have several and can modify food from the HH menu).

Overall Experience

I feel like I had a very healthy meal in a sophisticated atmosphere. All in all, this place is a keeper that I’m going to add to my regular HH locations!
