Today is St. Patrick’s Day and the Happy Hour Seekers celebrated by heading to Bellevue’s Irish pub, Paddy Coyne’s.
Paddy Coyne’s is not just a great place to visit on St. Patrick’s Day, it’s also the perfect place to go for happy hour or meeting friends. It’s like a taste of Ireland located in downtown Bellevue, complete with traditional Irish foods like shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, Guinness-braised Irish beef stew, corn beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and macaroni and cheese with spicy chicken sausage.
Their happy hour menu ranges from four dollars to nine dollars. They also offer a full bar with Irish whiskey drinks and more. Happy hours are 3 to 6 PM and 10 PM to 1 AM. If you like Irish food, Paddy Coyne’s is a must stop.
Before we go, here are a few fun facts about Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day:
St. Patrick (according to legend) banished all of the snakes from Ireland after they attacked him during a fast.
St. Patrick was actually an Englishman. He was kidnapped by pirates and was sold into slavery in Ireland
The official state color of Ireland is not green, but St. Patrick’s blue.
We hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!!!
Hello, Happy Hour Seekers! It’s been awhile but we’re back and tonight we went out to Suite–a trendy restaurant located at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Downtown Bellevue. It’s a sleek and hip lounge that becomes somewhat of a nightclub on the weekends.
Walking into Suite, we were wowed by the vibrant lighting and unique decor. Soft, neon lights created an intriguing, fun, and energetic atmosphere. There is even a small dance floor and Suite regularly showcases a variety of music and entertainment.
One of the most unique aspects of Suite is that every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., there are live performances by members of Seattle Aerial Arts. We don’t know of any other place in Bellevue where you can enjoy some food and drinks while also watching a fascinating acrobatic show!
Suite definitely offers great happy hours, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Monday through Friday and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The food was reasonably priced and really demonstrated the variety they have to offer!
El Gaucho, an upscale restaurant in Downtown Bellevue, is known for their exquisite
steaks and delectable seafood. El Gaucho is an elegant restaurant with attentive service and exceptional food, making it an all-around incredible dining experience. Sometimes happy hours only have limited selections that do not fully capture the true essence of a restaurant. However, in the case of El Gaucho, I’ll go as far as saying any expectations of what a true happy hour should be were exceeded!
Upon first walking into El Gaucho, one might not expect the expansiveness and luxuriousness of this restaurant. The bar is furnished with comfortable booths and chair seating. Although the lighting is dim, the restaurant is still bright due to the huge wall of windows.
If you’re looking to treat yourself, we strongly encourage checking out happy hours at El Gaucho for a luxurious dining experience!
What started out as a family-owned burger and beer restaurant has now grown over the years into a large chain of restaurants located across the United States and Canada. Today, Earls offers a diverse menu filled with fresh and innovative food options, often using local
food. Happy Hours are held daily in the lounge and on the patio—a definite plus for Happy Hour enthusiasts like us.
Earls in Bellevue is in a prime location, right across from the mall in downtown Bellevue.
It is within walking distance from several parking garages (Bellevue Square, the Westin, and Lincoln Square). Earls is super accessible and easy to spot from the street.
When we walked into Earls, we were met with a warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated atmosphere. This is definitely the sort of place that attracts young professionals in the area.
We had a great evening overall. Although the menu selection was somewhat limited, the foods and drinks tasted great. Plus, our servers were very friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to return to Earls!
Located in the northeastern corner of Bellevue Square, Cactus is a restaurant that draws from Southwestern, Mexican, and Spanish influence. Cactus planted its roots at Madison Park back in 1990 but didn’t find its way to Bellevue Square until 2013.
Now, Cactus is at five different locations across Seattle. Tonight we braved the
Thanksgiving weekend crowds at Bellevue Square so that we could make it to 4 o’clock Happy Hour at Cactus. It was totally worth it. Not only were the food and drinks delicious, but the service was outstanding.
Daily happy hours at Cactus run Monday through Friday (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.) as well as over the weekend (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.). Cactus offers a variety of happy hour items to choose from, and the servers at Cactus are very knowledgeable.
Cactus has become one of our favorite happy hour spots–who can beat their reasonably priced cocktails and festive atmosphere?
Bake’s Place is a local bar and bistro located in downtown Bellevue. Its atmosphere is fun, modern, and energetic. Music lovers are in luck because Bake’s Place regularly features live music. In fact, our favorite band, Shaggy Sweet, plays there often–we just wish the dance floor was bigger!
Happy hour tonight was quiet but our service was excellent. One of our favorite parts about happy hour at Bake’s Place is you can sit anywhere in the restaurant. There are only two house wines (one red and one white) which was kind of a bummer. However, there is a good selection of happy hour cocktails for $9.
The happy hour food menu includes some foreign-sounding items mixed with some more common food choices. All that we ordered ended up being pretty delicious!
Bellevue needed a place like Bake’s and we are so excited to have them here. There’s outdoor seating year-round, plus really unique food! If you love live music and flavorful cuisine, consider making Bake’s Place a regular stop.
The 520 Bar & Grill is right smack dab in the middle of Old Bellevue. Although space can be limited and the restaurant can get loud, its welcoming, casual and classy atmosphere makes 520 one of Bellevue locals’ favorite spots. Year-round outdoor seating (covered with a plastic canopy) is complete with heat lamps and blankets, making it a great place to meet up with friends, coworkers, or even a date. An added bonus: there’s always a game on TV.
520 has pretty cocktails and a wine list full of a variety of Washington, Oregon, and California wines to choose from. The food choices are interesting and have definitely improved over the years. 520 can be pricey but you’ll definitely leave fulfilled. We had a great time at and, although we were hoping for healthier options on the menu, our service was fantastic!
Our first thought before visiting Ruth’s Chris Steak House was what’s with the name!? It’s a bit of a tongue twister but after reading up on the history we have to give kudos to the gal who added her name to what was originally known simply as “Chris Steak House.” The restaurant chain can be traced all the way back to the 1920s and today there are over 100 steakhouse locations all across the United States. Tonight, we decided to stop by the
At Ruth’s Chris Steak House, we had an easygoing and elegant happy hour experience. Though the crowd was older (50s), there was also a mix of 30 to 40 year olds who appeared to have just wandered in from Bellevue Square. After waiting through a long line to get in, Ruth’s Chris Steak House offered quality food and drinks which we both agreed were well worth the wait!
Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, Pearl is the kind of spot that you might miss if you don’t know exactly where to work. Aptly named, Pearl is a unique restaurant that serves delicious seafood and a variety of drinks. It’s easily one of our favorite happy hour locations.
The food tonight was outstanding and was delivered in a timely manner, there were even gluten-free options. Admittedly, the service was not up to its usual standards but we’re chalking it up to it being an off-night, and we loved our waitress anyway. Pearl is still at the top of our happy hour list and we’ll definitely come back. It truly is a beautiful establishment and both the food quality and cocktail choices are outstanding.
Taking everything into consideration, we had a fun experience and would certainly return!
